Dermovia Lace Your Face Update

Dermovia Lace Your Face Update | Shark Tank Season 9

Traditional gauze is normally used for post-surgery and lacks aesthetics. Anita Sun Eisenberg, a medical esthetician, sought a solution to combine compression benefits with a more elegant design. This led to the creation of Lace Your Face masks, which offer comfort, a reusable design, and a luxurious feel. Which shark will strike a deal with the company? Find out in our Dermovia update.

  • Result: $350,000 for 15% equity

Mariella and Anita enter the Shark Tank to pitch their innovative facial beauty solution Lace Your Face. However, their initial presentation backfires when the women demonstrate the product by wearing the patches.

The sharks can’t help but chuckle – the Dermovia masks look rather silly. Determined, Mariella and Anita handed out samples.

Mark Cuban asks about the financials, and Anita explains that a four-pack box costs $55, while single masks retail for $15. They have an 80% profit margin on each box, and each mask costs about $3 to produce.

Since launching Dermovia in late 2015 with $150,000 in sales, they’ve grown exponentially, reaching a staggering $1.3 million.

They did $450,000 in 2016 and are on track to hit $750,000 in 2017, showcasing impressive growth.

She further revealed that they have secured distribution in major department stores like Nordstrom and Barney’s, and also sell Dermovia online. They also have four patents: a design patent on the masks and three utility patents.

Robert Herjavec saw too many challenges ahead and was the first shark to drop out of the deal. Mark Cuban follows, admitting he knows nothing about the products being pitched.

Echoing Mark’s concern, Daymond John drops out as well.

Guest shark Bethenny Frankel offers $350,000 for 30% contingent on getting the 4-pack down to $29.99.

Lori Greiner expresses skepticism, believing a larger brand presence is necessary before consumers will jump on board. So she’s out.

The entrepreneurs counter Bethenny’s offer with $350,000 for 15%, revealing they have a potential million-unit order on the table.

Upon hearing this, Lori jumps back in with an offer of $350,000 for 15% equity. Anita and Mariella agree, and they make a deal and become partners.

Do you think things will work well for Lori and the entrepreneurs? Find out in our Dermovia update.
