Ashlee kicked off her pitch by introducing The Pocket Panty, a discreet, reusable pair of emergency underwear packaged in a compact pouch.

It’s designed for women who find themselves in unexpected situations, leaks, sweat, or unplanned overnight stays, and need a clean, easy backup.

Each pair is one-size-fits-most, reusable, and easy to store in a purse or glove compartment. A plus-size version is in development.

Ashlee got the idea when a friend mentioned bringing extra underwear in her purse before spending the night with someone.

That moment made her realize there was a real need for a convenient, ready-to-go product like this.

At this point in her presentation, she handed out samples to the sharks. Lori Greiner asked if she had done any research on demand.

In response, she said she had distributed samples in schools and boutiques, and the feedback was positive. Many women said they’d want to keep a pair in their car or bag just in case.

When Robert Herjavec asked about sales, Ashlee shared that she launched in the last quarter of 2021 and ended the year with $8,000 in sales. However, her lifetime sales are $60,000.

The panties are made in China at $2.24 per pair. She wholesales them for $5 and retails them for $10.

Kevin O’Leary asked why someone wouldn’t just pack regular underwear. Ashlee said The Pocket Panty is more discreet and intentional.

She also pointed out that, as a Black woman entrepreneur, she rarely gets access to funding opportunities like this. She shared that Black women-owned businesses have grown, but receive just 0.27% of venture capital funding.

Guest shark Emma Grede asked where she was currently selling. Ashlee explained that she sells online, in boutiques, at all-girls private schools, and in vending machines.

Robert asked about her background. Ashlee shared that she worked in real estate before pivoting to this idea after a breakup and a life reset.

Mark Cuban wanted to know if she was on social media. Ashlee admitted it wasn’t her strength. Mark said that’s a major issue.

He explained that a product like this depends on social media to drive awareness and sales. Since she hadn’t built that channel, he went out.

Just then, Lori jumped in and said she believed someone else on the panel might be a better fit and stepped out.

Robert liked her energy but felt the sales didn’t reflect the pitch. He also passed.

However, Mr. Wonderful didn’t think the product justified the price. He called it too expensive and said he couldn’t add value. He went out.

Emma was the last shark standing. Unfortunately, she agreed with Mark about the social media issue.

She also said that Ashlee should drop her price to $3.99, and she exited the negotiation.

With that, Ashlee left without a deal but with positive feedback and a push to keep building The Pocket Panty.

Ashlee quickly expanded her product line, launching The Pocket Panty Curve for plus-size users and introducing a new “Period Kit” in 2024.

She also rolled out new formats, including 3-packs, 5-packs, and biodegradable pouches to discreetly store soiled underwear.

Prices range from $12 for singles to $30–$60 for bundles, and select items became available on Walmart.

In response to the attention, Ashlee took her brand in a more mission-driven direction.

She launched The Pocket Panty Project in 2024, a charitable campaign that donated over 900 period kits to underserved women, including those affected by wildfires.

She partnered with shelters, correctional facilities, and nonprofit organizations to promote menstrual equity and hygiene access.

Ashlee also secured investment from MinervaVerse, a women-led fund supporting diverse, purpose-driven businesses.
