Tree-T-Pee Update

  • Entrepreneurs: Johnny Georges
  • Business: Agricultural
  • Ask: $150,000 in exchange for 20%
  • Result: $150,000 in exchange for 20%
  • Sharks: John Paul DeJoria

Johnny brought his Tree-T-Pee to the tank. He shared that it saves him nearly 20,000 gallons of water per tree, per year. He explained that water irrigation systems were ineffective, with only 10% of the water actually reaching the trees’ roots. His cone-shaped container kept the water confined within reach of each tree’s root system.

When asked about cost, he shared that each unit cosst him $2.95 to make. He then sells them directly to other farmers for an average cost of $4.50. Kevin explained that with a profit margin of $1, Johnny would have a hard time finding a partner who thought his business was worth going out on a limb for. When Johnny told Kevin he wasn’t comfortable charging tree growers more for his product, Kevin went out.

Guest shark John Paul DeJoria told Johnny that farmers were the cornerstone of America, and he would give him everything he asked for. Johnny’s eyes lit up and he quickly accepted the offer.

We are so happy to share some good news in our Tree-T-Pee update! Johnny’s business was able to branch out a lot more after his appearance on Shark Tank. He reportedly received 56,000 letters and emails from potential clients, customers, and viewers who were touched by his sincerity. The brand is now sold internationally, as well as in Florida Home Depot stores, and online via the Tree-T-Pee website.
