Shark Tank Lifter Hamper Update
- Entrepreneur: Marvin Phillip
- Business: Bungee spring-loaded hamper
- Ask: $85,000 for 12% equity
- Result: No deal
- Shark: None
Marvin created the Lifter Hamper by using a bungee spring-loaded liner that brought clothes from the bottom to the top without having to bend and reach to get everything out of the hamper.
The sharks thought the design was pretty good, as the liner worked well and the hamper featured wheels to help get it around with minimal effort.
Kevin O’Leary asked Marvin to clarify his $700,000 valuation. At this juncture, Marvin revealed that the item was not on the market yet, inspiring an outburst from the sharks who did not like hearing that at all.
He then shared that he had put $75,000 of his own money into the product.
Mark Cuban was the first to go out, stating he wouldn’t be able to help. Robert went out next because he felt it would take too much work to get Marvin where he needed to be.
Lori Greiner echoed Robert’s sentiments that it was too early and she was also out, with Kevin following.
Daymond John was the final shark remaining, but he too went out without an offer.
We have good news to share in our Lifter Hamper update! In 2015, Marvin received a licensing deal from Household Essentials, which helped him bring the product to numerous retail operations, both in-store and online.
The product is available through many online retailers. The company has an estimated annual revenue of $1 million, thanks to the licensing deal.
