Husband and wife team Lisa and Ivan brought their Squeeky Knees baby and toddler pants to the tank. The pants have squeakers sewn into the knee pads, so a caregiver can monitor the baby by ear at times when they have their back turned, such as while cooking. Ivan added that the squeakers also protect the kids’ knees when they take a tumble.
The couple told the sharks that they sold over 500 units, making a little over $10,000 in three years. When questioned as to why their sales were so low, Ivan replied that they had done no marketing other than sending the kids to the park in their squeaky pants, and handing out business cards to curious onlookers. Lisa emphasized that they had done everything on Ivan’s income alone.
Lori Greiner was the first shark officially out, saying that if people really liked the product, they would buy it. Mark Cuban told the pair that they had a product, but not a company, so he was out too. Robert Herjavec was next, and he echoed Mark’s reasoning. Kevin O’Leary told the couple that they needed to understand that no one wanted their product, and he was out.
