Laid Brand Update

Laid Brand Hair Care Update | Shark Tank Season 8

Laid Brand created a unique hair-care product that uses pheromones to boost confidence and improve social interactions. Sadly, existing hair-care solutions lacked this distinctive feature. For this reason, Adam Rauch and Derek Shaw developed a line of pheromone-infused products that also protect and improve hair quality. In our Laid Brand update and pitch recap, let’s see if their company can secure a deal.

Shark Tank Laid Brand Pitch

Shark Tank Laid Brand Update
  • Entrepreneurs: Adam Rauch and Derek Shaw
  • Business: Pheromone-infused hair care products
  • Ask: $30,000 for 30% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Sharks: None

Adam and Derek introduced Laid Brand as the first professional hair-care line infused with pheromones, designed to boost confidence and enhance social interactions.

They sought an investment to expand their product reach, refine their formulations, and position themselves as a major player in the beauty market.

The products are free from harmful chemicals like parabens and sulfates and are not tested on animals.

Additionally, it maintains and improves hair color while keeping hair hydrated and healthy.

Initially, for both men and women, they have evolved into a women-focused brand aftermarket testing.

They make one bottle for $2.50 and sell it for $24.99, which is sold at a salon and online.

At the time of their pitch, they had made $27,000 in revenue within six months. However, sales halted to allow time for reformulation and further testing.

Despite the uniqueness of their product, the sharks were not entirely sold on the overall concept.

Robert Herjavec doesn’t think he will recoup his investment. He’s out.

Kevin O’Leary has issues with their industry’s stiff competition and thinks that gaining shelf space in major retailers would be difficult. He’s out as well.

Lori Greiner highlighted issues with the product, including intense competition and personal skepticism about its effectiveness. She declines to invest.

Mark Cuban shared Kevin’s concerns, and he dropped out of the negotiations.

Barbara Corcoran says she doesn’t think she would use the product. She was the last shark out.

All five sharks declined to invest, leaving the entrepreneurs without a deal.

With no deal in hand, let’s get a Laid Brand update to see how the company is doing today.

Shark Tank Laid Brand Update

Our Laid Brand update found that the company has gone out of business.

According to our research, the company maintained an active presence on social media until late 2018, with its last post appearing in November of that year.

However, by December 2018, they ceased operations.

Following the company’s closure, Derek transitioned to other ventures, including founding Green Lyzard Consulting in 2019.

Moreover, we could not find any information about co-founder Adam, except that he briefly used X in 2020 to promote a new invention by his wife.

This will be our final Laid Brand update.
