Shark Tank Alpha M Update

Alpha M Update

  • Entrepreneur: Aaron Marino
  • Business: Male consulting service and DVD series
  • Ask: $50,000 for 10% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Shark: None

Aaron pitched his company, Alpha M during Shark Tank Season 4. His business centered around helping men dress better so they could climb the corporate ladder faster and have better success with the ladies.

The pitch ultimately honed in on a 6-disc series of DVDs available at the retail price of $297.

The sharks were not happy with the product or the price. Before long, they also learned that Aaron’s company had sold only 75 units in 4 weeks, earning $61,000.

Daymond John was the first shark to go out, stating issues with the valuation. Kevin O’Leary was next to follow suit, saying the company was not investable.

Barbara Corcoran said she couldn’t imagine the DVDs would sell and went out.

Robert Herjavec politely applauded Aaron’s consulting proficiency and profits associated with the consulting service side of Alpha M., but he agreed with Barbara on the DVDs and went out.

That left Mark Cuban, who said fashion wasn’t his thing and dropped out. What became of Aaron’s company? Keep reading our Alpha M update to find out!

Our Alpha M update is a mixed bag. On the one hand, the DVDs seemed not to sell at the original price point, and would eventually become an available digital download for a discounted $197 instead of the $297 original.

For founder Aaron Marino, he continued operating Alpha M. with great success, consulting with regular clients and celebrities as well. His estimated annual revenue for Alpha M is $634,000 and it seems he is still growing the brand since appearing on Shark Tank.
