Simple Habit Update | Shark Tank Season 9

Yunha Kim has created a product to help the average person create a habit of meditating. The product is accessed through an application on a smartphone. Customers open the app, answer a few questions, and a customized meditation is created for them to do. Do the sharks feel this wellness and relaxation tool is worth a $12 million evaluation during Season 9? Let’s recap and see where they are now in our Shark Tank Simple Habit update.

Shark Tank Simple Habit Update

Simple Habit Update

  • Entrepreneur: Yunha Kim
  • Business: A wellness and relaxation app
  • Ask: $600,000 for 5% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Shark: None

The Simple Habit app is free to download and makes money by charging customers a monthly fee to access premium content. Yunha was inspired to create this app because other meditation apps on the market do not have diversity in content and she felt that was a need for the marketplace.

Yunha made it evident she entered the tank to get guest shark, Richard Branson, due to his laid-back attitude she felt fit the product. Mark Cuban went out fast when she started explaining how she was going to get celebrities to advertise the product. Mark then called her a golddigger; he clearly wasn’t impressed by her approach.

Daymond John explained how others come into the tank who have worked much harder and ask for much less. He felt his money would be better spent elsewhere and dropped out because she had plenty of money in the bank. Lori Grenier dropped out without much explanation but said she might be a customer.

Richard asked if he could go in at $300,000 for 10%, as he felt the initial ask was too high. Mark continued to pester Yunha, prompting Richard to throw water at him. Mark then tossed his water onto Richard ensuing chaos in the tank.

Robert Herjavac seemed to see something different in Simple Habit. He stated that just because the company has raised a lot of money, it doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to be on the show. Robert offered to give $300,000 for 10% if Richard would match it for a total of $600,000 for 20%. Richard agreed to join this offer.

Yunha counter with $600,000 for 6%. She then got pretty emotional explaining the feedback she has received from customers stating their lives were changed because of Simple Habit. Robert and Richard came back with $600,000 for 15%. Yunha declined this, prompting Robert and Richard to drop out.

At the time of this Simple Habit update, the app is still going strong with a net worth of over $10 million and is available via app stores. So despite not getting a deal on Shark Tank, it looks like things are working out well for Yunha.
