Shark Tank Mama O’s Update
- Entrepreneurs: Mama O and Kheedim Oh
- Business: Kimchi
- Ask: $200,000 for 10% equity
- Result: No deal
- Sharks: None
Mama O’s presented four different types of Kimchi to the sharks that their brand currently sells to customers. The average cost for a bag is $3 dollars and is sold in stores for about $10 dollars per bag.
Not many kimchi options without other unnecessary ingredients in it so Mama O decided to make her very own batches in the basement and then accidentally started a company! Mama O's Vegan Kimchi Paste is the perfect ready-to-use product to make your own kimchi at home or to enhance everyday dishes. Try this Super Spicy Paste to add extra heat to your food.
The kits cost about twice as much, which comes out to about $20 dollars per unit. Most of the company’s sales come from Whole Foods, which they only recently got into before appearing on
During the 2021 calendar year, Mama O’s generated just about $800,000 dollars in gross revenue. During 2022, they are projected to hit $1 million dollars. The net profits will be about 25% of the gross amount, which means Mama O’s should net a profit of $250,000 dollars at the conclusion of the 2022 calendar year.
Kevin O’Leary, Mark Cuban, and guest shark Kendra Scott couldn’t see themselves investing in this particular company, so they dropped out. Lori Greiner also decided that there was too much risk involved, so she had to drop out as well.
Daymond John was the final shark available to negotiate, but he decided to drop out without making an offer even though part of him wanted to invest.
