Sunday Night Slow Jams Update

  • Entrepreneurs: R Dub
  • Business: Syndicated radio program
  • Ask: $75,000 in exchange for 10% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Sharks: None

R Dub brought his radio program, Sunday Night Slow Jams, to the tank. He takes dedications and plays love songs, old and new. He told the panel that his program was broadcast on over 60 stations across the country, and is streamed online around the world. R Dub even brought a popular slow-jammer from his generation, Brian “Back At One” McKnight, to give an unplugged performance.

Brian had all the sharks singing along, but Mark Cuban was skeptical. He told R Dub that the syndicated radio business model was horrible to invest in. R Dub responded that his program was already making money, and was set to make $350,000 revenue from ad sales that year

Lori Greiner told R Dub that she enjoyed romantic songs, but this wasn’t the right investment for her, so she was out. Kevin O’Leary reiterated what Mark had said earlier about investing in the radio market, and was next to go out. Robert Herjavec went out for similar reasons. Mark told R Dub that he was doubtful the DJ’s program could extend its reach into younger listeners, so he went out next. Daymond John was the last shark to go out, stating that slow jams weren’t for him.

With no offers from the sharks, R Dub was forced to leave the tank without a deal. What do you think happened next for his radio program? Keep reading our Sunday Night Slow Jams update to find out!
