Julie brought her Slawsa condiment to the tank. She said her product was great for topping grilled food or eating with chips. Mark Cuban asked Julie how she came up with the recipe, and Julie said that it was an old family recipe of her now-former partner who she had just bought out for $50,000.

It cost Julie $1.25 per bottle to make, and she sold it for $2.25. She told the sharks that within the eighteen months prior to her appearance on the show, her slaw-salsa hybrid had been picked up by 4,200 stores nationwide, including 1,500 Krogers and all Publix stores. Her first year sales figure was $212,000, and her projected sales for the end of year two was $500,000.

Mark said he was a big fan of her product, but he was out. Robert Herjavec was next to go out, as he wasn’t a fan of the product. Daymond John said Slawsa wasn’t for him, and he too was out. Lori Greiner was next, saying it was a great product, but she didn’t want to be in the Slawsa business. Kevin O’Leary was the last shark to drop out, saying he had issues with Julie’s valuation.

Julie told the sharks she would make them regret not investing in her company, and she left without a deal. What happened next for her company? Keep reading our Slawsa update to find out!

We did some digging for our Slawsa update, and we were happy to find that Julie is still in business. The product has since been carried in over 8,000 stores, restaurants and stadiums in the US and Canada. It’s also sold through the Slawsa website and on Amazon.
