Shark Tank Lipstix Remix Update

Shark Tank Lipstix Remix Update
  • Entrepreneur: Jill Quillin
  • Business: No waste lipstick product
  • Ask: $105,000 for 30% equity
  • Result: $105,000 for 50%
  • Sharks: Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, and Kevin Harrington

Jill Quillin entered the tank to pitch her company, the Lipstix Remix, designed to save the lipstick that gets stuck at the bottom of the tube.

She then explained to the sharks how her kit could transform leftover lipstick into a brand-new shade in under 10 minutes, effectively recycling old lipstick.

Barbara Corcoran loved the concept because it wasn’t just about saving money; it also offered an exciting opportunity to create brand-new lipstick shades.

Kevin Harrington asked about her sales numbers. Jill explained she had set up a booth in a mall for 10 days. She achieved good results, selling over 250 units and earning more than $6,000 in that short period.

Robert Herjavec expressed concern that selling the product would be difficult without expensive television commercials to raise brand awareness.

He also worried that the product might only be a good fit for certain stores, which didn’t align with his investment strategy. He exited the deal.

Jill, however, countered and explained to the sharks that she planned to use the $105,000 investment to run promotions – potentially helping her reach a wider audience.

Kevin O’Leary is impressed; in fact, he liked the product itself and how Jill presented her plans. However, he said he didn’t have enough information about the industry to make any investment, so he’s out, too.

Barbara Corcoran was impressed with the concept and Jill’s determination. She offered Jill a counteroffer: $52,500 in exchange for 15% equity. However, there was a catch.

To secure the full investment, Jill would need to convince another shark to invest the remaining $52,500.

Daymond John made a counteroffer. He was willing to invest the full $105,000 for 40% equity.

Meanwhile, Kevin Harrington decided to join Barbara’s offer. He liked the idea of a split investment but also wanted a 40% ownership stake, similar to Daymond’s offer.

The situation became more complex. Jill now had two offers on the table, but both required her to give up a significant portion of her company.

Daymond further complicated things by proposing a solo deal. He suggested he could handle the marketing in stores while Kevin would create the infomercial.

This meant Jill would have to choose between the two sharks and their proposed structures for the deal.

Barbara Corcoran wasn’t happy with how the negotiations were unfolding. She said to Jill that she considered herself the most trustworthy shark and wasn’t comfortable partnering with Daymond or Kevin.

This meant a three-way deal, where all three sharks would contribute, was off the table.

Faced with this decision, Jill took a moment to discuss the offers with her husband.

Despite their earlier comments, the three sharks decided to collaborate. They revised their offer to Jill for $105,000 at 50% equity.

After careful consideration, Jill decided to accept the offer.

Jill left Shark Tank with a three-shark deal. What do you think happened next? Keep reading our Lipstix Remix update to find out.

Shark Tank Lipstix Remix Update

Our Lipstix Remix update shows that the deal with the three sharks never came to fruition.

Jill enjoyed a period of positive results, but our Lipstix Remix update found that the success wasn’t permanent, and things took a turn in 2013.

In a March 2013 Facebook post, she shared some “disappointing news”: Lipstix Remix kits would no longer be sold.

While the specific reasons weren’t disclosed, Jill expressed her well wishes to her customers and her appreciation for their support.

Jill’s post was flooded with heartfelt comments from customers wishing her the best and praising the product.

It looks like this will be our final Lipstix Remix update.
