For years she struggled to find a soap that didn’t irritate her skin. So, she spent 3 years studying horticulture to learn about the benefits that plants can have on sensitive skin.

Most natural products on the market contain essential oils and synthetic fragrances, but these still irritate sensitive skin. However, Gently Soap uses plants instead, which offer a gentle and soothing aroma without harmful side effects.

At this point in the pitch, the sharks have the opportunity to check out Kristen’s soaps. They love the scents, especially guest shark, and the founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, Candace Nelson.

At the time of filming, products are being sold online and she is about to launch on Amazon. Year-to-date sales are $113,000 and she launched in February of 2021.

Of that, $66,000 in sales came from the previous year, and she profited $38,000 from those sales. Further, 78% of her orders are from repeat customers.

Each bar of soap costs $2.38 to produce and they retail for $11. She also offers a box of 4 bars for $40.

Kristen says that 71% of the population suffers from sensitive skin, which is up by 55% in the last 2 decades. This means that there is a large market for products like Kristen’s.

Lori Greiner loves the product. That said, she’s working on a product that would compete with this, so she is out.

Mark Cuban says he can’t relate to the product and drops out.

Likewise, Daymond John also says he can’t relate because he has been blessed with good skin. He is the next shark out.

On the other hand, Kevin O’Leary is interested. He offers $75,000 for 10% equity, plus a $1 royalty for each bar sold.

In addition to this, when he makes back $500,000, the royalty will drop to $.20 per bar in perpetuity.

Candace offers $75,000 for 30% equity in Gently Soap. She doesn’t want a royalty and also offers to connect Kristen with a big partner in the beauty market; Thirteen Lune.

Kristen counters her with $75,000 at 15% equity. Unfortunately, Candace won’t budge.

She counters Candace again at 20% equity, but Candace still won’t budge. Not ready to give up, she counters one more time at 25% and Candace accepts the deal.

With that, Kristen leaves Shark Tank Season 15 with a deal from the Sprinkles Cupcakes founder. Keep reading our Gently Soap update to find out what happens following the show!
