Life Caps Update

  • Entrepreneurs: Daryl Stevenett
  • Business: Supplements
  • Ask: $200,000 in exchange for 30%
  • Result: No deal
  • Sharks: None

Daryl opened his pitch by asking the sharks how healthy and alert they thought he looked. The sharks listened in confusion as he told them that he hadn’t eaten a single thing in eight days. He credited his pills, Life Caps, for keeping him going for over a week without calories.

According to Daryl, just one capsule a day gave him all the nutrition required to sustain him. The sharks were not buying Daryl’s pitch, but they were certainly amused by it. Lori Greiner asked Daryl what made Life Caps different from a vitamin. He answered that there was a huge difference, but he didn’t quite say what that was.

He proclaimed he had once gone 17 days without food, thanks to 3-4 capsules per day. According to Daryl, his capsules allowed him to survive on his own body fat just as hibernation allows a bear to survive on its body fat, thanks to a “unique metabolic trigger” inside the capsule he created. He claimed to lose one pound a day on it, but it wasn’t a weight loss pill (wink-wink).

Mark Cuban called him a snake-oil salesman and said he was out. Robert Herjavec was out, hinting that the pills would sell people the false hope of weight loss. Lori felt Daryl was being reckless with peoples’ health by selling them an untested product, causing her to go out next.

Trying to win Lori back, Daryl asked her “Barbara, can I explain one thing?” Barbara wasn’t even there that day, so Daymond John teased Daryl, saying his mental alertness wasn’t holding up as well as he’d claimed. Kevin O’Leary didn’t believe anything Daryl said, ultimately going out, with Daymond following right after.

Without any offers from the sharks, Daryl left without a deal. What happened next for his company? Keep reading our Life Caps update to find out!

Our research finds that Daryl sold his capsules and his website and on Amazon for a number of years, but reviews weren’t great. The product is no longer available, so we think it’s safe to say that Life Caps is off the market. This will be our final Life Caps update!
