- Shark:Â None
The Brumachen portable coffee maker appeared on Shark Tank Season 12 Episode 11 and was pitched by founder Kweku Larbi and brand ambassador Ross Smith. Essentially, Kweku created a portable coffee maker that can be used in virtually any situation and can be plugged into a wall, car, or used with a rechargeable battery. Further, the coffee maker works with any type of coffee pod on the market.
Kweku shared that he was a civil engineer and came up with the idea after his workers were spending too much time going to get coffee while at remote job locations.
However, despite a great product, sales haven’t been great for Brumachen, with only $42,000 in sales to date. That said, during the Brumachen
None of the sharks were interested in making a deal, due to the uphill climb and $10 million valuation. So, Brumachen left the tank without a deal. In addition to the low sales, none of the sharks cared for the design of the portable coffee machine.
As far as a Brumachen update goes, the product is currently being sold on its website. If they take the suggestions of the sharks, they’ll likely spend the next few months working on a better design. Additionally, there may be some efforts to lower the cost. Further, the biodegradable leaf pods could be a whole separate business of its own. So who knows what will happen there.
