Lindsey shared that she came up with the idea after she was trying to go shopping, and couldn’t manage her groceries and her newborn. That’s when she had the idea for a shopping cart hammock that would safely hold the car seat.

She took the idea to her dad, who created a prototype and helped start the business.

When using the Totes Babies product, you simply latch it over the top of the cart, put the car seat in the sling, and attach the safety straps around the car seat. It can hold up to 75 pounds, so it’s super safe!

At the time of the pitch, Totes Babies had sold $220,000 worth of carriers since August 2018 and sells online and in retail stores like Buy Buy Baby and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Lindsey and Stan shared that it cost $9.90 to make each carrier and they retailed for $39.95.

Mark Cuban was the first shark to drop out, but not before suggesting that Lindsey and Stan sell the product directly to grocery stores. He thought the product would do well as a point-of-service display right by the door.

Further, Kevin O’Leary doesn’t think he can add much value to the company. He too goes out, but not before congratulating the father and daughter for their invention and accomplishments.

Daniel Lubetzky loves Lindsey and Stan, however, he doesn’t think he is the right partner, so he too is out.

It’s a different story for Robert Herjavec though. He feels he can help, so his offer is $100,000 for 25% equity.

Next to put an offer in is Lori Greiner, who thinks that the Totes Babies product could potentially do a licensing deal with one of her other baby products. She also offers $100,000 for 25% equity.

Just then, Daniel comes back in with an offer of $100,000 for 22% equity. After a moment, Robert says he will go in with Daniel, and the two settle on 25% for their joint efforts.

Despite some back and forth between the sharks, Lindsey and Stan chose to accept Lori’s offer!
