Shark Tank Pully Palz Update

Pully Palz Update

  • Entrepreneurs:  Julie Thompson
  • Business: Pacifiers holder for babies
  • Ask: $100,000 for 20% equity
  • Result:  $100,000 for 28% equity
  • Sharks:  Lori Greiner

Julie brought an adorable display of her Pully Palz to the tank. She explained how babies too often will drop their pacifiers and are unable to reach them and put them back into their mouths. When parents need an extra hand, her product is the perfect thing! She says her Pully Palz are in high demand and she needs help from a shark to manage her company.

In the twelve months prior to filming, Julie had $97,000 in gross sales. Most of her sales came from 350 specialty retail stores and Amazon. Each unit was sold between $19.99 and $24.99 and cost her $4.50 to manufacture. She shared that a personal investment of $175,000 had gone toward safety testing and inventory.

Kevin O’Leary believed that the $20.00 price point was way too high for a pacifier. Julie tried to contest the fact that her product was not exclusively a pacifier, but also an interactive toy that helps baby’s develop their skills in the first two years of their life. She also had developed a line of additional accessories from teethers to toys that snapped into her product along with pacifiers.

Robert Herjavec believed that there was a better and cheaper alternative to Julie’s product, so he dropped out first. Mark Cuban felt similarly to Robert, and he dropped out next. Kevin was the third shark to drop out, stating he didn’t like the high price. Daymond wasn’t interested, so he also went out, but Lori decided to make an offer of $100,000 in exchange for 30% equity.

After a moment to think, Julie countered Lori at 25% equity and Lori countered her back with 28%. Julie accepted Lori’s deal! What happened next for her company? Keep reading our Pully Palz update to find out!

Unfortunately, we have bad news to share in our Pully Palz update. While the company received a deal on Shark Tank, it was announced in 2017 that the business would be shut down. This will be our final Pully Palz update.
