Shark Tank World Record Striper Company Update
- Entrepreneurs: Greg Myerson
- Business: Fishing bait
- Ask: $75,000 for 20% equity
- Result: $80,000 for 33% equity
- Sharks: Mark Cuban
Greg entered the tank with an 82 pound Striped Bass that he caught and won a world record for. His World Record Striper Company bait is similar to a tiny rattle that calls near sighted fish to the line. Along with his fishing records, he also had a patent. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a lot of sales however.
In the two years prior to filming, he only had $55,000 in sales. A single unit costs $2.60 to make, and retails for $6.45. Mark Cuban had heard enough and relied on one of his past deals to make an offer to Greg. He offered $80,000 in exchange for 33% equity.
Before Greg could answer Mark, Robert Herjavec and Daymond John quickly dropped out. As Mark began asking Greg for an answer, Kevin expressed interest in giving an offer, but Mark threatened to drop out if Greg listened to Kevin’s offer. For that reason, Greg quickly shook hands with Mark, accepting his offer. What happened next for his company? Find out in our World Record Striper Company update!
