RokBlok by Pink Donut Update | Shark Tank Season 9

Most record players are bulky and inconvenient, limiting vinyl listening to specific locations. Logan Riley came up with a solution: RokBlok, a portable record player that works directly on the vinyl itself, making vinyl records playable anywhere. Logan pitched RokBlok on Shark Tank to secure funding for wider production and distribution. In our RokBlok update and pitch recap, let’s see if any of the sharks were willing to take the risk and invest in this business.

Shark Tank RokBlok Pitch

RokBlok by Pink Donut Update
  • Entrepreneurs: Logan Riley
  • Business: Portable Record Player
  • Ask: $300,000 for 15% equity
  • Result: $500,000 for 100% equity + $5 royalty in perpetuity
  • Sharks: Robert Herjavec

Logan Riley entered Shark Tank with RokBlok, seeking an investment to expand his unique product that blends classic vinyl nostalgia with modern wireless technology.

RokBlok is a portable record player designed to bring the classic vinyl experience to a modern, mobile audience.

Unlike the regular turntables, RokBlok is compact and lightweight, allowing users to play their favorite records on any flat surface.

The device features a built-in speaker for personal listening and has Bluetooth connectivity for wireless playback on headphones or external speakers.

RokBlok has a stylish bamboo exterior and a honeycomb design, offering a touch of a vintage aesthetic.

While not intended for audiophile-grade listening, RokBlok’s portability and ease of use make it ideal for introducing younger audiences to vinyl records or for casual listening on the go.

The device’s rechargeable battery can last up to four hours of playback and can accommodate records with 33 and 45 RPM.

The sharks loved RokBlok’s innovative design but had concerns about the niche market in a modern era where many people prefer using the digital version to listen to their favorite classic jam.

A single unit costs about $23 to produce, and it currently sells for $100. He’s made a little over $400,000 in total sales.

Mark Cuban said the product hadn’t been tested enough in the public market. For this reason, he dropped out of the deal.

Barbara Corcoran echoed Mark’s concerns and also dropped out.

Meanwhile, Kevin O’Leary offered $300,000 for 50% equity.

Robert Herjavec made a counteroffer of $500,000 for 100% and a $5 royalty in perpetuity.

Logan ultimately decided to sell his entire company to Robert for $500,000 and a royalty on every unit sold of RokBlok.

Was the right call for Logan? Let’s find out in our RokBlok update.

Shark Tank RokBlok Update

Unfortunately, our RokBlok update found that the deal with Robert Herjavec fell through.

While the exact reason is unclear, our research suggests he might have been worried about competition from a similar product called Soundwagon.

Since appearing on Shark Tank, RokBlok quickly gained popularity. It sold out within four hours of its episode airing, and sales jumped from around 15 units per day to hundreds.

In September 2019, RokBlok secured a utility patent and partnered with major retailers like Walmart and West Elm.

Our RokBlok update found that its rapid growth brought challenges. Negative reviews surfaced, especially about audio quality, and the company struggled to meet demand.

To address this, Logan allowed customers to reserve RokBlok with a 10% discount during stock shortages.

Despite these setbacks, RokBlok bounced back.

Logan fixed customer issues and released the improved RokBlok 1.5, which resolved audio problems and enhanced the stylus, Bluetooth, and speaker capabilities.

The latest model, RokBlok 2.0, is now available, and the company is valued at $5 million.

Now that Logan has worked out some of the kinks, we are excited about where our next RokBlok update will take us!
