After landing a deal during its Shark Tank pitch, Nightcap saw a big increase in sales. In just a year after airing, Nightcap has done $2.1 million in lifetime sales and expanded its reach in the United Kingdom. Before Shark Tank, the company only had $68,000 in sales.

Since airing and securing a deal with Lori, the company has also released three new colors and a keychain and brought in singer Julia Michaels onto the team to help promote it in bars and music venues.

If you’d like to purchase a Nightcap, it is currently available for sale on its official website. There are a few different options available, one of which comes with a reusable straw.

What Is the Nightcap from Shark Tank?

Brother sister duo Michael and Shirah Benarde impressed the sharks with their innovative drink spiking protector during Season 12 Episode 12 of Shark Tank. Created by Shirah, Nightcap is simply a cover for your drink that only has one small opening for a straw, preventing drink spiking.

Shirah Benarde shared with the sharks that she came up with the idea in a dream after a friend of hers had her drink spiked in college. After she got the idea, she quickly got to work on the first prototype that was made out of her mom’s pantyhose and a scrunchie. Fast-forward a few months and the first Nightcap product was born.

In the 11 months that the product has been sold, Shirah and Michael had managed to get $68,000 in sales, with the majority of them coming over the last few months. Michael shared during the Shark Tank pitch that the rise in sales was due to website optimization and a better understanding of social media ads.

Lori Greiner instantly fell in love with the scrunchie cover and was passionate about helping solve the drink spiking problem that many college girls fall victim to. She wasted no time and offered Shirah and her brother Michael $60,000 for 25% equity in Nightcap, which they accepted.
