FRSH Update | Shark Tank Season 14

Donovan Brown and Trey Brown came onto Shark Tank Season 14 to discuss their subscription-based air freshener brand, FRSH. They were seeking $200,000 for 5% equity, and the sharks were very interested in learning about the business model since it seemed sort of unique. Let’s see if they were capable of striking a deal before we give you a FRSH update!

Shark Tank FRSH Update

frsh update

  • Entrepreneurs: Donovan Brown and Trey Brown
  • Business: Air Fresheners Subscription Service
  • Ask: $200,000 for 5% equity
  • Result: $200,000 for 20% equity
  • Sharks: Barbara Corcoran

During the FRSH pitch, Donovan and Trey decided to have a little fun with Mark Cuban and gave him an air freshener that was branded with a team that knocked the Mavericks (the NBA team he owns) out of the playoffs last year. He was not pleased and dropped out immediately.

Moving on to the company’s financials, Donovan and Trey shared that FRSH had enjoyed more than $1 million in gross sales. The company utilized a direct-to-consumer approach through a subscription-based model on its website. During the 2022 calendar year, projections are suggesting that FRSH will generate more than $700,000.

The average customer keeps the subscription for four months before canceling. The sharks were confused about what type of customer would purchase a subscription for this type of product. The entrepreneurs suggested that rideshare drivers and taxi drivers were a major segment of their customer base.

Several of the sharks weren’t interested, so they began dropping out one by one. However, Barbara Corcoran decided to offer $200,000 for 20% equity, and Donovan and Trey quickly accepted.

Let’s jump ahead and get a FRSH update and see how the brothers are doing after Shark Tank. While it’s too early to say much, we are positive that short-term marketing has skyrocketed since the episode aired and that Donovan and Trey have received a nice boost in sales.

The next FRSH update seems promising with Barbara on the team, as she will likely be able to help land more licensing deals and can help create a line of scents geared towards females.
