Bon Affair Update

  • Entrepreneurs: Jayla Siciliano
  • Business: Wine spritzer
  • Ask: $150,000 in exchange for 35% equity
  • Result: $150,000 in exchange for 35% equity
  • Sharks: Mark Cuban

Jayla enjoys wine, but she didn’t like the aftereffects the next day from drinking it. Further, she was a runner and the excess calories were not in line with her fitness goals. That’s why she created her brand, Bon Affair, that sold bottled wine spritzers with added electrolytes.

She had already invested $30,000 of her own money, and also had two private investors, that put in $450,000. Unfortunately, she lost 90% of her first run due to leaking bottle caps, costing $100,000. The investors put more money in, for a grand total of $700,000, but the company still needed more. She valued her company at $2.61 million.

Daymond John said that Jayla was underestimating the amount needed to get her brand off the ground, and he was out. Robert Herjavec disagreed with Jayla’s valuation. Kevin O’Leary was unsettled by the amount of investor money that was already lost. Barbara Corcoran wasn’t interested in investing. Robert, Kevin and Barbara were all out.

To everyone’s surprise, Mark Cuban said he would give $150,000 in exchange for 35% equity. Jayla accepted the offer! What happened next? Keep reading our Bon Affair update to find out!

We have great news to share in our Bon Affair update! We’re glad to report that many years later, the company is still in business! However, it appears Jayla is no longer involved with the company, apparently having left around 2016. Estimates put the annual revenue at $5 million, and the brand’s sparkling Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah spritzer are currently available at Total Wine and More, and on the Bon Affair website.
