CAKES Body Bra Alternative Update | Shark Tank Season 15

Most nipple covers use sticky adhesives that can irritate the skin, especially around the nipple. This led twin sisters Casey Sarai and Taylor Capuano to create CAKES Body, a reusable, adhesive-free silicone nipple cover that sticks using natural body heat. They’re easy to wear and made to match different skin tones. Will the sharks bite on this stylish fix? Let’s dive into our CAKES Body update and pitch recap to see how it all went down.

Shark Tank CAKES body Pitch

Shark Tank CAKES body Update
  • Entrepreneurs: Taylor Capuano and Casey Sarai
  • Business: Bra alternative
  • Ask: $300,000 for 5% equity
  • Result: $300,000 for 10% equity
  • Shark: Emma Grede

Taylor and her twin sister, Casey, walked into Shark Tank with a product born out of personal frustration.

They were tired of dealing with flimsy foam pads in swimsuits and sports bras, pads that bunched up, shifted around, or got wrecked in the wash.

Traditional bras were more reliable, but they didn’t work for every outfit, especially backless or low-cut styles.

So, they created CAKES Body, reusable silicone inserts that stick naturally to the skin, no adhesives needed. They’re soft, seamless, and shaped to blend under clothes.

Thicker in the center and thinner at the edges, they’re designed to give smooth coverage without showing through. Plus, they’re washable and built to last.

During the pitch, the sisters handed out product samples and even stuck one on Kevin O’Leary’s bald head to prove how well it stays in place.

The sharks laughed, but they were listening. Mark Cuban wanted to hear numbers.

The sisters shared that they started the company with just $10,000 and no outside investors.

In their first year, they made $1 million in sales. By the time of their pitch, they had reached $1.5 million and expected to finish the year at $5 million, with $500,000 in profit.

Kevin asked how they got customers. The sisters shared that a single viral TikTok video had driven 90% of their sales the year before, with $0 spent on ads.

Their margins were strong too, as it costs $8 to make a pair, and they sell for $30.

Guest shark Emma Grede then asked why they needed a shark. Taylor said they wanted help turning CAKES from a one-product brand into something bigger.

Casey added that they were also passionate about creating solutions for other real problems women face.

Mark bowed out, saying that it just wasn’t his lane. Robert Herjavec said he admired their hustle but also passed.

Emma offered $300,000 for 12.5% equity. Kevin jumped in next, offering $300,000 for 5% equity and a $1 royalty per unit until he made back $1 million.

The sisters countered Emma at 8%, but she stood firm at 10%.

In the end, Taylor and Casey accepted Emma’s deal.

Shark Tank CAKES body Update

Our CAKES Body update found that the deal with Emma Grede closed successfully.

Before appearing on Shark Tank, the brand had already reached $2.6 million in lifetime sales. Eight months after the deal, total sales skyrocketed to $47 million.

Emma helped the team stay focused on inclusive boob solutions, positioning CAKES as a natural fit alongside brands like Skims and Good American.

The brand’s biggest breakthrough came on TikTok Shop. CAKES became the number one-selling undergarment product on the platform, with TikTok now driving 30% of total revenue.

Their scrappy marketing and viral content helped them build one of the highest-grossing stores on the app.

From the start, CAKES donated $1 per order to breast cancer research. That effort has now raised over $1 million.

In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the brand launched its first community-led photoshoot featuring survivors and customers who helped co-create their newest product: CAKES with nips.

Mark Cuban once told Emma she’d make one investment that would pay for all the rest. She says CAKES is that one.
