13 year old Andrea, along wither her mom Hong, put on an impressive presentation of their massage tool, the Q Flex. Hong explained that as a nurse, she would come up with terrible back aches from being on her feet all day. She relied on Andrea for back massages but Andrea wanted a better solution. Together, they came up with their personal acupressure tool, designed to relieve tension and pain while giving a nice massage.
Andrea admitted that she only had about 800 sales and that most of her sales came from knocking on doors in her local neighborhood. A single unit costs about $4.50 to make and sold for between $25.00 and $36.00.
Kevin O’Leary didn’t feel that the company was investable at this point, so he dropped out. Lori Greiner lacked faith in the product’s ability to sell in the long run, and was the next to go out. Robert Herjavec believed in Andrea and Hong but not in the product, causing him to go out as well.
Just as it was starting to look like Andrea and Hong may have to leave the tank without a deal, Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran expressed their interest. The status of this company is unclear. Research for our Q Flex update revealed that their online presence seems mostly absent. We were unable to locate a company website and their product appears to be out of stock on Amazon and Walmart.com. We’re hopeful this doesn’t mean that the company has gone out of business, but these signs don’t point to great news.
