Shark Tank PMS Bites Pitch

Shark Tank PMS Bites Update
  • Entrepreneur: Tania Green
  • Business: All-natural treat for women experiencing PMS
  • Ask: $50,000 for 20% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Shark: None

Tania entered Shark Tank to pitch her company, PMS Bites—a line of gluten-free, vegan, and all-natural snacks designed for women experiencing PMS.

She explained that over 90% of women deal with symptoms like bloating, headaches, and irritability for up to 10 days each month. Her goal was to make that time easier by offering a healthy snack option.

Each bite is made with ingredients like dates, almond butter, and oats, along with herbs believed to support hormonal balance.

Tania emphasized that the bites helped satisfy chocolate cravings without turning to sugary snacks that often make symptoms worse.

Lori Greiner asked for samples, and Tania passed out boxes to the sharks. They liked the taste and the packaging.

Tania then broke down the numbers. A three-pack of PMS bites wholesale for $4.50 and costs $1.55 to make. The retail price was $7 per pack.

Robert Herjavec asked about sales, and Tania said she made $13,400 in the past seven months, selling through independent retailers and gyms like Equinox.

Lori asked if she made them by hand. Tania said yes, she produced everything herself in a commercial kitchen. She also handled packaging, deliveries, and sales.

Robert wanted to know why sales were low. Tania explained she didn’t have enough funding or help. She was doing it all alone..

When asked about her background, Tania said she worked in branding and marketing but lacked passion for promoting other companies.

PMS Bites was personal, she created it based on her own experience with severe PMS symptoms.

She clarified that the bites weren’t intended as medicine. Instead, they were a healthier alternative to junk food.

Kevin O’Leary said the name “PMS Bites” could limit the brand. Lori agreed, suggesting a name with broader appeal.

Still, Lori went out. She said the product didn’t have mass-market appeal.

Robert followed. He liked the concept but felt the business was too small to scale.

Barbara Corcoran didn’t believe Tania had the energy to grow the business and also go out.

Kevin was bothered by the marketing because he believed it divided the market by only targeting a specific part of the population.

Kevin believed the product narrowed its audience too much and passed.

Mark Cuban asked about her marketing strategy, and Tania admitted she had only focused on retail, not social media. Mark said that was a mistake.

He believed PMS Bites had viral potential but needed the right digital approach.

In the end, Mark passed, too, saying the investment felt more like tuition than a business opportunity.

Tania thanked the sharks and walked off without a deal. Let’s check in for a PMS Bites update to see what happened next for her company.

Shark Tank PMS Bites Update

Our PMS Bites update revealed that the business saw a short-term boost in traffic and sales following its Shark Tank appearance.

Website visits increased, and total sales climbed to around $300,000.

At the time, the product was sold through the brand’s website and in about 15 stores around Boston.

Tania had already secured a private investment from Mark Andrus, co-founder of Stacy’s Pita Chips.

However, by 2018, PMS Bites had shut down. One of the key issues was the high price per bite, which turned off many customers.

Meanwhile, more brands entered the functional snack market. The competition made it harder for PMS Bites to grow.

Following the shutdown, the PMS Bites website went offline. Eventually, the domain was sold and redirected to unrelated content.

Since then, Tania transitioned into the marketing and wellness space. She took leadership roles in other companies and continued working in branding.

This will be our final PMS Bites update.
