Jenny brought Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli to
Beans beet meat. Our flagship corn'd beef is made with wholesome ingredients like beets, tomatoes, and chickpeas packing every slice with tons of vitamins and minerals in addition to a protein-rich punch at 14g per serving!
However, after moving to Los Angeles, she desperately missed the deli experience. Plus, she became a vegan, which definitely impacted her ability to enjoy deli meats.
That’s what prompted her to start Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli. It makes 100% plant-based corn beef and is also in the process of developing more plant-based meats.
She gives the sharks a sample during her pitch, and they all agree that it’s really good and tastes very close to the original. She shared that she puts in a lot of effort to retain the original meat taste.
But it’s more than just a great-tasting meat alternative. There are only 100 calories per 2 ounces of meat, something which has taken a lot of work to achieve.
Jenny shares that she’s only been producing the meat for a few months, and she’s already in six or so delis in LA. Further, next month, she has a deal starting with 58 Whole Foods stores and next year she has a deal with 230+ chain restaurants.
It costs $3.80 to make a pound of plant-based meat, and then it retails for between $8-$10 per pound.
With great sales, a huge profit margin, and determination, she’s winning the sharks over.
Daymond John asks about the valuation, but Jenny responds by saying she wants a shark, and that’s the reason she’s here.
Additionally, she projects $3 million in sales as soon as she gets her meat out on the market.
This is apparently all Kevin O’Leary needs to hear. He offers $100,000 for 20% of Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli.
Guest shark Anne Wojcicki is interested but wants to make a deal that won’t put her out. She says there are big Silicon Valley companies making some big leaps in the field.
Mark Cuban interrupts, saying that he’s a vegetarian, and because of this he believes in the product. He loves the meat and offers to be the poster child for the company.
He offers her $250,000 for 20% equity in her company, which is more than she asked, but a bigger portion of her company.
Jenny accepts Mark’s offer and seems elated with the deal.
