The Sleep Styler is a set of heat-free rollers that can curl hair while you sleep.

Moreover, Tara explained to the sharks that the rollers are made of soft, absorbent yoga towel fabric and memory foam, which makes them comfortable enough to sleep in.

This plush material dries without drying out your hair, so curls come out shiny and silky.

In addition, The Sleep Styler could replace the traditional flat iron, blow dryer, and curling iron, creating luscious curls without the risk of irreversible heat styling damage.

She showed her dedication by enrolling in fashion school to learn manufacturing and sewing for The Sleep Styler, all while balancing her roles as a mom and doctor.

The sharks were impressed by her dedication, the product, and its benefits.

Curious, Kevin O’Leary asked her what her sales look like. Tara explained that she had begun a Kickstarter campaign two months prior.

Notably, she met her funding goal of $10,000 in the first 24 hours and closed it at $47,000.

Afterward, once the Kickstarter campaign ended, she sold $6000 worth of products on her website exclusively.

Each package of eight is retailed for $39 and costs just under $10 each to make.

Then, Lori Greiner asked her how much she had invested, and Tara admitted that she had invested $100,000 of her own money.

At this point, Robert Herjavec asked Tara why she was seeking the $75,000.

She explained that while she could invest the money herself, she valued the business expertise a shark could bring to her team.

Mark Cuban then pressed her on what she truly needed.

Tara shared that she’d recently attended a major beauty expo, where her product had generated a huge wave of interest.

She went on to explain that she hadn’t committed to any of the interested parties yet because she wanted to make the best possible decision.

Before the other sharks could react, Lori swept in with an offer of $75,000 for 30% equity. She pressed Tara for an immediate answer.

Tara then countered Lori by lowering the equity ask to 25%, and she accepted.
