Shark Tank Pawnix Update

  • Entrepreneur: Kirsten Brand
  • Business: Noise-cancelling headphones for nervous dogs
  • Ask: $150,000 for 10% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Shark: None

Kirsten Brand devised a way to help her furry companion, Emma, navigate stressful and noisy situations like fireworks and parties. Pawnix are noise-canceling helmets designed for dogs with Bluetooth capabilities to help your pets stay calm and relaxed.

At the time of filming the Shark Tank Season 13 episode, Pawnix was still a young company. The company boasted $105,000 in sales in just about a year—not bad for a very niche company.

First, the sharks love how cute the helmet is. It’s available in four sizes to ensure a good fit for your pet’s head shape.

They also think Kirsten’s sales are impressive, all things considered. However, they seem less than enthusiastic about the product itself.

Robert Herjavec loves dogs but not the high price point. The Pawnix headphones sell for about $200, which is too much for him.

He also thinks the market is too niche. For these reasons, he goes out.

Lori Greiner follows next because she isn’t sure they need all of the electronic components. Also, she agrees with Robert about the high price point.

Although Lori thinks Emma looks adorable in the helmet, she goes out.

Meanwhile, Daymond John thinks the product would be challenging to explain. It isn’t the business for him, so he goes out as well.

Mark Cuban, likewise, just isn’t excited about the product. Therefore, he goes out, too.

This leaves Kevin O’Leary as the last shark on deck. However, he doesn’t think he wants dog headphones in his Mr. Wonderful portfolio, so he also drops out.

Unfortunately, Kirsten and Emma leave the tank without a deal. But where is the company now? Let’s find out in our Pawnix update.

We got the opportunity to speak with Kristen for an exclusive Pawnix update. “Shark Tank has become more than just a TV show for us, it’s a source of encouragement to pursue our own dreams and ambitions,” Kristen told us in an email interview.

After airing on the show, she told us, “Pawnix received a remarkable surge in sales.” She continued, “Building on this initial success, we’ve maintained steady growth momentum, strategically focusing on key seasons where pet-related purchases are particularly high.”

Kirsten is also committed to improving the lives of our furry friends. The company has a Give & Grow program that donates $5 of every purchase to a dog-centric charity and gives customers the chance to increase the donation amount.

Kristen shared that she is expecting to surpass $250,000 in sales in 2024 and hopes to continue expanding the reach of their products.

In terms of a future Pawnix update, Kristen told us they are working on some PJs that will complement their headphones.

Products are available for purchase on the Pawnix website. She offers four colors and a lower-cost refurbished model. You’ll also find lots of helpful tips for product use and even a suggested playlist of soothing classical music to keep pups calm.

We’d like to thank Kristen for giving us a Pawnix update. The future looks bright, and we are excited to cheer her on!
