Pillow forts are fun, but they can be a challenge. Conor Lewis dreamed up the perfect solution to parents’ pillow fort woes with FORT, magnetic cushions that create a pillow fort with no velcro and no cushions from your couch. Will the sharks appreciate his efforts during his
Shark Tank FORT Update

Conor Lewis thought of the idea for FORT after helping his daughter make a pillow fort in their living room. The idea was to avoid clean-up and save on expensive couch cushions. After a Kickstarter round, Conor sold $2 million in ten hours. However, his high product costs and shipping issues have nearly sold him out of business.
The sharks saw major problems with how the business functioned. On top of this, the $500 price point for a single set was too much for most sharks. Since customers hadn’t received their orders from the Kickstarter yet, it was difficult to gauge how well the product was doing.
Kevin O’Leary was the first to go out, citing numerous business problems. Mark Cuban followed. Conor would survive this, he said, but he was also a great example of what not to do as an entrepreneur.
Guest shark Emma Grede didn’t think the business was proven yet, so she went out. Lori Greiner followed because she didn’t think she had anything to add. This left Robert Herjavec, who said that he was trying to talk himself into investing. Ultimately, he went out. In our FORT update, we’ll look at how the company is doing now.
From the research for our FORT update, it looks like FORT is still running into supply and shipping issues. Currently, orders on its website are backed up for at least three weeks. However, they are still taking orders. You can get your FORT in purple, green, light blue, brown, beige, and yellow, in addition to teal and black.
