Shark Tank Dapper Boi Pitch

- Entrepreneurs: Charisse Pasche and Vicky Pasche
- Business: Gender-neutral clothing lineÂ
- Ask:Â $250,000 for 5% equity
- Result:Â No deal
- Sharks: None
Charisse and Vicky’s vision for Dapper Boi focuses on creating gender-neutral designs tailored for curvier body types, with plans to expand beyond their current pre-order model.
They explained that the funds would help boost inventory and move away from their pre-order model.
Charisse shared that when shopping for clothes, people usually have to pick from either the men’s or women’s section, but neither works for Vicky.
The sharks check out their clothing samples, and Kevin O’Leary asks why they sell directly to customers instead of through stores.
Vicky says their direct-to-consumer model works best for now, and they use social media and influencer marketing to bring in customers.
Furthermore, she explained that they started the business seven years ago with a Kickstarter campaign.
They launched it after realizing many people faced the same challenge of finding well-fitting clothes.
Moreover, their sales over the years reached $3.5 million, but they rely on pre-orders to fund production, which they revealed to the sharks posed some challenges.
In 2021, they made $1.2 million in sales, but supply chain delays and other issues left them with just $100 in the bank and $150,000 in debt.
They even sold their house to keep the business running.
Mark Cuban raised concerns about their profits. Vicky admitted they overspent on a failed marketing strategy while attempting to expand beyond their core audience.
In contrast, Daymond John praised their connection to the LGBTQ community but questioned why they’re pushing beyond it. Though he offers mentorship, he doesn’t invest.
Lori Greiner steps away, saying she doesn’t know enough about clothing, and Barbara Corcoran doubts the investment would solve their financial issues. She’s out as well.
However, Mark believes their focus should remain on their community and disagrees with their direction. He’s out.
Kevin O’Leary also declines to invest, citing the financial risk.
Before they leave, Daymond gives them his number, offering to help in other ways.
With no offers from the sharks, the entrepreneurs were forced to leave without a deal. What happened next? Keep reading our Dapper Boi update.
