FunkkOff TeethRefreshers Update | Shark Tank Season 14

Joelle walked into
Joined by her lifelong friend and branding expert Sonia, they’re seeking an investment to boost inventory and scale up their sales.Â
Their main objective on the show is to make their patented solution as essential as lipstick or gum for quick, discreet tooth cleaning.
FunkkOff TeethRefreshers is a small, portable toothbrush that looks like a lipstick tube. Its built-in dispenser holds peppermint and vanilla tooth gel, which is natural, vegan, and safe to swallow.Â
The product is designed to make cleaning your teeth quick and easy when you’re out and about—whether after a meal, a coffee, or on the go.
During their pitch, Sonia shares her experience working with major brands like Trident Gum, showing her deep understanding of branding and marketing.Â
Meanwhile, Joelle explains how she approached Sonia with the idea, and together, they began their journey.Â
The entrepreneurs explain that their product is available for purchase on their website, Amazon, and in about 50 stores, including dental offices.Â
They’ve raised $675,000 in funding so far, and they invested $325,000 of their own money.Â
However, despite this effort, sales only began in July 2021, and total lifetime sales stand at $80,000.Â
Each unit costs $7.50 to produce and sells for $22, which offers strong margins. However, the company is not yet profitable and is currently $130,000 in the red.
The women note they have 2,800 units in stock and are preparing to expand with a toothpaste line.Â
However, Mark Cuban feels that their marketing strategy is missing the mark, which makes him hesitant.Â
Robert Herjavec agrees that the product has potential but feels their current sales are too low for him to justify investing, so he decides to step out.
Guest shark Emma Grede encourages them to secure a deal with a big retailer but, like Robert, feels the company is too small at this stage. She also bows out.Â
Lori Greiner admits she likes the product personally but doesn’t see herself investing, so she exits as well.Â
Kevin O’Leary echoes similar concerns, saying the business needs higher sales to earn his involvement. He, too, decides to drop out of the deal.Â
Even Mark, despite loving the product itself, ultimately chooses not to invest.
As the women turn to leave, Robert recalls how his wife always asks why he didn’t invest in certain products she loved, and he believes FunkkOff is one she would appreciate.
In a surprising twist, he offers $250,000 for 12% equity. Joelle and Sonia immediately accept the deal.

Shark Tank FunkkOff Update
Our FunkOff update found that the deal with Robert Herjavec did not close, as there is no confirmation that it was finalized.
The company is now available in 55 stores, mostly in New York and Washington, DC, but reliable revenue figures aren’t available at the moment.
At the time of this writing, the company hadn’t added more retail locations.Â
Reviews on Amazon were mixed, with many customers saying the product was too expensive. However, monthly sales were also low, bringing in only $3,000 to $4,000.
Products are available on the FunkOff website.
If we receive another FunkOff update, we will share those details on this page.
