Next, she introduced Happi Floss, compostable flossers designed to break down in under one year, as an eco-friendly solution to reduce harmful plastic waste.
Seeking an investment, Staci explained that the money would help bring her product to market and meet the growing demand for sustainable dental care products.
Meanwhile, as the sharks examined the samples, Lori Greiner noted it was made of paper. The sharks tried the flossers, and Daymond John asked how she came up with the idea.
In response, Staci shared that her inspiration came from seeing plastic waste polluting the waters in Hawaii.
Happi Floss is the first floss designed for true compostability: they’ll break down in under one year.
However, Staci explained that her company is pre-revenue and that she needs specialized machinery to manufacture the flossers.
Additionally, she has pending utility patents in the U.S., Europe, and Canada but faces competition from HumbleCo.
For this reason, Kevin O’Leary suggested licensing the product to one of the three big companies that dominate the dental industry. However, Staci explained that these companies were not interested.
Furthermore, the sharks had concerns about the business. They all agreed that the company was not at all worth $2 million, even with pending patents in the United States.
Moreover, guest shark Daniel Lubetzky summarized that she had no sales, and Staci clarified she had raised less than $125,000 in presales through crowdfunding.
While a 30-pack costs $12.99, she noted that she could reduce costs with the right machinery.
Despite the product’s potential, Kevin, Lori, and the other sharks all declined to invest, citing issues with the valuation, lack of sales, and the company’s early stage.
Ultimately, Staci left without a deal. Let’s quickly get a Happi Floss update after Staci’s appearance on

Despite the increased interest, production delays persisted as the company worked to develop the machinery needed for scaling.
As of this writing, Happi Floss reported an estimated net worth of $2 million, with annual revenues of around $100,000.
However, as of August 2024, customers still couldn’t buy the compostable flossers, and pre-orders had yet to ship.
