Shark Tank Anytongs Pitch

Shark Tank Anytongs Update
  • Entrepreneur: Tog Samphel
  • Business: Kitchen tongs accessory
  • Ask: $150,000 for 20% equity
  • Result: $150,000 for 49% equity
  • Shark: Daymond John

Tog introduced his innovative kitchen tool, AnyTongs, that transforms everyday spoons or forks into fully functional tongs.

This also reduces contamination during cooking since the silverware can be easily removed and replaced. The sharks were impressed with this clever kitchen hack.

He needs an investment to boost inventory and secure retail placement, aiming to scale his kitchen innovation after overcoming early manufacturing struggles.

The product is simple but effective. It’s a small, plastic hinge that snaps onto spoons or forks, instantly turning them into tongs.

This makes cooking easier without needing multiple kitchen tools. If someone worries about cross-contamination, they can swap out the utensils instead of repeatedly washing tongs.

Furthermore, he launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $10,000 throughout the fundraiser.

The product generated a lot of buzz, and he raised more than $30,000 during the campaign.

He also shared that his margins were reasonable since they only cost him about $2 per unit.  The products were sold to interested customers at a price point of $19.99.

Due to the global pandemic in 2021, AnyTongs generated only $7,000 in gross revenue and experienced manufacturing issues.

Tog used his struggles during this time to develop the second version of his product.

The new design is more convenient and improves company margins, as the landed cost is just over $1 per unit produced.

Most of the sharks weren’t interested, but Daymond John decided to make an offer of $150,000 for 49% equity.

After some counteroffers from Tog, he eventually accepted the offer from Daymond.

So what became of Tog’s company after appearing on Shark Tank? Keep reading our AnyTongs update to find out.
