Shark Tank Kiid Coffee Pitch

- Entrepreneurs: Ethan and David Sanborn
- Business: Healthy coffee for kids
- Ask: $50,000 for 5% equity
- Result: $50,000 for 15% equity
- Shark: Daniel Lubetzky
Ethan and David pitched Kiid Coffee, a coffee brand made specifically for kids. Their product is 99.9% caffeine-free and packed with nutrients like prebiotic fiber and calcium.
It allows children to enjoy a morning cup alongside their parents without the caffeine crash.
They offer three flavors—Choco Latte, Original Latte, and Caramel Latte—sold through their website, Amazon, and coffee shops.
As samples were passed to the sharks, guest shark Daniel Lubetzky was curious if Kiid Coffee was David’s full-time job and David admitted it wasn’t.
Kid Coffee costs $3.50 to produce but can be reduced to $2.80 with larger volume orders. It is sold for $14, giving it a 75% profit margin at current costs and 80% at the optimized cost.
Lori Greiner wanted to know why their costs were so high and how much they had sold.
In response, Ethan and David shared that the business launched in April 2024 and has made $75,000 in sales, primarily through its website and some sales on Amazon.
However, one of their biggest breakthroughs came from selling in coffee shops, where each location moves at least two bags per day.
Moreover, Ethan actively promotes the brand by creating videos for Instagram, helping to increase visibility.
What sets Kiid Coffee apart is its ability to provide kids with the coffee experience while delivering essential nutrients.
With milk consumption steadily declining, it offers parents a healthier alternative for their children.
Initially, the sharks hesitated, but the coffee shop sales model changed their perspective.
Kevin O’Leary made the first offer of $50,000 for 30% equity, though his high equity ask left room for negotiation.
Meanwhile, Mark Cuban and Lori teamed up to offer $50,000 for 20% equity, a deal that Daniel quickly matched.
However, as the negotiations continued, Kevin lowered his offer to $50,000 for 15% equity with no contingencies.
In response, Daniel adjusted his proposal to $50,000 for 20% equity, adding an incentive—if David committed to Kiid Coffee full-time, he would receive 5% in stock options.
After a brief discussion, David and Ethan accepted Daniel’s offer.
The question remains—will this kid-friendly coffee become the next big thing? Let’s find out in our Kiid Coffee update.
